pennypaperbrain: (Sherlock brain by redscharlach)
[personal profile] pennypaperbrain
Lest there be doubt: I am alive! I just exclusively use tumblr because it’s where my fandom is.

I also appear to have been fixed by the NHS. After two years of chemical chaos I am now 10 weeks into a lithium + citalopram combination which seems to have jolted everything back to base sanity. Who knows how this will pan out in the long term, but right now I like it.

And this time next week I will be on my way to see eldritch-horrors in New Orleans.

Your health situation is good news... and I am now following you on Tumblr, though I am reluctant to start another blog...

Gosh, I'm not sure people from LJ would like my tumblr! But it's public-access. You can't f-lock in the same way there.

It consists of:
1) Health complaints (now eased due to state of health)
2) BBC Sherlock's hair
3) Meta about Sherlock, social justice, writing and sexuality
4) Random reblogs
5) BBC Sherlock's hair
6) Fic

I can't think that LJ-ers would be put off all that...

I'm glad to hear that you've got medications that are working for you!

At some point, I'm going to have to explore Tumblr. I just haven't been motivated to yet. I'm not in any current fandoms, so I don't have that impetus.

Glad to hear that the combos working for you. Lithium's the mainstay of mine (with tegretol and seroquel) and apart from rather more thirst than is always convenient it's been a good drug.

I am so excited on your behalf about you visiting eldritch-horrors.

Also, obviously, it's wonderful that citalopram and lithium are working. :) (Citalopram has really helped out a lot of my friends. I should write it a thank you letter or something.)

I'm always weird so I don't think they'd have noticed if I hadn't given them periodic health reports.

Great news on the NHS front! Hope it continues to go well for you. :)

Enjoy your visit to 'Nawlins! I've never been there myself, but several folks I know have and they say it's grand. :)

Wow, I'm surprised that citalopram appears to have have a positive effect on you, but I'm very pleased that you've found a combination that seems to work! Long may it stay like this! Hope you enjoy your visit to New Orleans!

Btw, thank you very much for the b'day card - really nice card! =)

It was starting to feel very, very strange not knowing what you were up to! :)

I'm really glad to hear that you're doing well, brain-wise. I'm so happy you've found a meds combo that is working for you. Citralopram did really strange things to me (made me sleep so much, and made me question whether I was sleeping or awake when I was actually awake...very weird).

Also I'm SO jealous that you're going to New Orleans!!! AARGGHHH...I want to visit so much.

It made me REALLY yawny at first, like yawing for hours, with tears running down. Kind of embarrassing at work. But that's easing off now.

What you need to do is come back to London for more than 24 hours.

Yes, I was crazy yawny too!! But it never did ease off. Eventually I had to switch meds, it was just too weird feeling like I was in asleep or in a dream state all the time. I've been put on lamotragine along with my current anti depressants now. So far no change other than sleeping even less than before. Fun times :(

I have two work trips to London coming up in the next month or two..still organising them but yes, we have to meet up soon. I plan to be a lot more London-focused at work in the coming year so that will definitely help my visits along nicely.
